Spider-Girl and Cheetara pin-ups…

So, I’ve been branching out and getting several of commissions for pin-ups lately. I dig it. I dig it alot. Here are my two latest pieces from the pin-up series. Cheetara’s getting the sexy treatment, but Spider-Girl… that’s the one I really like.  I like seeing behind the scenes of being a superhero.  Plus, somehow I’ve made her beat to shit and sexy at the same time.  :)

It’s been 7 full days in L.A…. I dig it… a lot! The weather is rad, the people are… tolerable (no less so than anywhere else, anyway :) It’s gorgeous! Been blanketing special F/X shops with my portfolio with several favorable responses. It’s been pretty great! This is where I gotta be.

Two new pieces coming in a couple of weeks, by the way! GET THERE!

Sorry for the lack of updates. Working on a larger creature maquette and a couple of other, smaller projects while getting ready to go to Los Angeles for a couple of weeks to check out some shops. Gonna try to get the new pics up before I go!

A birthday present for a friend of mine. It’s really the first time I’ve done a licensed character. The sculpt was easy, but the painting… *sigh* Sure I’ve got some painted pieces but I’ve never painted anything this small before. Gotta work on that. Otherwise, it was a fun sculpt. I think I’m gonna do some more licensed characters. I’m used to just digging around in the twisted sewer of my brain for creature ideas. I need some help, peeps! Leave me some suggestions!

Zombie Babies!

sketch8sketch7Okay… so… I went through this phase where I was fascinated with zombie-babies.  I find the whole concept hilarious.  A zombie’s whole existance is filled with the longing to devour human flesh.  A zombie baby with no teeth would just go crawling around on all fours, sucking on people ankles.  Hah HAAAAAA!  Eat THAT, zombie-baby!

I just pulled some stock pics off the web and digitally painted them.  Photoshop - 2005

“Dracul-Claus!” or “Tears Make the Cookies Taste Better”

sketch1I drew this as a Christmas present for a friend of mine.  This is the last scan I was able to get before it was finished.  The concept is… “What if Dracula bit Santa Claus?”  I said “Santacula!!!”  He said “No, it rolls off the tongue too easily.”  So what did we get?

DRACUL-CLAUS!!

Without the shading it’s hard to tell but that’s a little girl crying with a plate of cookies.  Obviously she has quietly accepted death.  What a trooper.  Pencil - 2007
